Our Leadership

Dr. Umerali Kunnakkadan is a post-doctoral fellow at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Thiruvananthapuram. He earned his Ph.D. in Biotechnology from the Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology (RGCB), focusing on virus–host interactions and immune evasion strategies. His research spans virology, immunology, and applied molecular biology, with expertise in CRISPRi screening, molecular cloning, virus culture, immunological assays, and cell biology techniques.
He has received several prestigious fellowships and awards, including the Newton-Bhabha PhD Exchange Fellowship (UK), CSIR-UGC research fellowships, and recognition at national and international scientific conferences. With multiple peer-reviewed publications and international research exposure, Dr. Umerali strengthens Sticky Ends Bio with deep scientific expertise and a commitment to innovative, research-driven problem-solving in life sciences.

Subhash Thomas is a postgraduate in Genomic Science with over a decade of experience in molecular biology, genetics, and wildlife studies. He has served as a Teaching Assistant at the Centre for Wildlife Studies, Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (KVASU), where he was responsible for training postgraduate students in molecular biology and genetics and managing the molecular biology laboratory. He was awarded the Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment (KSCSTE) Research Fellowship, which supported his early research in molecular genetics. His work has contributed to understanding population genetics and phylogeography, resulting in multiple peer-reviewed publications. Driven by a vision to translate his academic and research expertise into practical solutions, Subhash transitioned from academia to entrepreneurship, co-founding Sticky Ends Bio .
